- There will be a manslaughter. And I will participate in it. You won’t prove it and that is the only reason I’m telling you this, says Boguslaw Linda, who portrays a gangster broken by his past, marking his return to the big screen.
The shooting for the successor of Pitbull, the cult film by Patryk Vega, has already started. The second part will be titled Pitbull. Nowe porządki (Pitbull. A New Order). The director intends to show the life of police officers in an uncompromising way, and also reveal the gangster world to us, for the very first time. Pitbull. A New Order offers a brand new insight into the life of police and crime.
In this film by Vega, Pitbull challenges a rebellious police officer from a police precinct in the district of Mokotow (Warsaw), who goes by the nickname Majami. When Majami starts an undercover investigation of a group of gangsters, his path crosses with the protagonists from the previous Pitbull, i.e. Gebels, Igor, and Barszczyk. It soon turns out that the homicide section from the Mostowski Palace (the Police Headquarters in Warsaw) is working on the so-called Mokotow Group that connects to a “gang of finger-cutters” responsible for a series of kidnappings and manslaughters. Police officers from both precincts realize that they are facing the most powerful crime organization in Poland and the only to bring it down is through cooperation.
The first part of Pitbull premiered in 2005. It starred Marcin Dorocinski, Andrzej Grabowski, Krzysztof Stroinski, Janusz Gajos, and Rafał Mohr. The film saw a backlash of controversy, but it captured the imagination of mass audience after the release of an expanded TV series that built on it. The series by Patryk Vega included a number of new scenes, and it was so immensely successful that TVP commissioned a second season, which was equally popular. It introduced new characters portrayed by Pawel Krolikowski and Roma Gasiorowska, who proved to be cast perfectly for their roles. The Pitbull series continued until season 3, which was broadcast in 2008 and ended the series.
The following actors have been cast for part two: Gebels (Andrzej Grabowski), whom the fans of Pitbull already know from part one, Igor (Pawel Krolikowski), and Barszczyk (Michal Kula), and Krzysztof Czeczot – the star of Służby specjalne. The film will also feature a number of surprising female characters portrayed by Maja Ostaszewska, Agnieszka Dygant, Anna Mucha, as well as Anna Karczmarczyk, Beata Kawka, and Julia Pogrebinska (all of who starred in “Galerianki”). The role of Majami will be filled by Piotr Stramowski, who will mark his debut on the big screen.
Pitbull. A New Order will hit cinema screens in January, 2016.
