Małgorzata Szumowska and winner of Tofifest nominated for European Film Awards

On Saturday was announced the nominations for the European Film Awards. Polish director Małgorzata Szumowska was nominated for Best European Director. Nomination for the Best Film was given to the winner of Tofifest'2015 icelandic movie Rams by Grímur Hákonarson.
Szumowska is laureate of special Tofifest Golden Angel for artistic insolence. We are happy, that among nominees there are three films from Tofifest program (also submissions for this year’s foreign-language Oscar) Iceland’s Rams (Grand Prix Golden Angel Tofifest 2015), France’s Mustang and Sweden’s Venice 2014 champ A Pigeon Sat on a Branch Reflecting on Existence.

This year’s European Film Awards will be presented in Berlin on December 12. Last year’s top honors went to Pawel Pawlikowski’s eventual Oscar winner “Ida.”
