This year, in the section Contemporary World Cinema audiences in Toronto will see the new movie of Ryszard Bugajski's "Cataract" ("Zaćma") and the Polish co-production "Marie Curie" directed by Marie Noëlle
"Cataract" can be a considerable shock in the contemporary Polish. The film shows a little-known episode in the life of the Stalinist bandit - Colonel of communist Security Office, Julia Brystygierowa. It was called "Bloody Luna," because during the interrogation she was unprecedented cruelty. In the early 60s she went transformation and became a devout Catholic.
"Marie Curie" - the story of strong women
