On Saturday evening, in Sevilla European Film Academy announced the nominations for the European Film Awards for the year 2016. Winner of the Grand Prix Tofifest, German movie "Toni Erdmann" took the most of them. Among the nominees are also two Poles, Piotr Stasik and awarded by Rafter Tofifest Award - Tomasz Wasilewski.
At the Seville European Film Festival the European Film Academy and EFA Productions proudly announced the nominations for the 29th European Film Awards. The more than 3,000 EFA Members will now vote for the winners who will be presented during the awards ceremony on 10 December in Wroclaw, European Capital of Culture 2016.
In the most important category - for the best film in Europe - will compete "Toni Erdmann" by Maren Ade, "I, Daniel Blake" by Ken Loach, "Julieta" by Pedro Almodovar, "Elle" by Paul Verhoeven and "Room" by Lenny Abrahamson.
In the category Best Screenplay was nominated Tomasz Wasilewski for his "United States of Love". Tomasz already in 2013 received our Rafter Tofifest award.
There is yet another Polish artist nomineed - Piotr Stasik for his documentary "21 x New York".
