Our festival will offer an opportunity to watch selected episodes of the documentary series ‘Geniusze i Marzyciele’ (‘Geniuses and Dreamers’), which will be shown on a big screen for the first time.
The 550th birth anniversary of Nicolaus Copernicus has inspired the organisers of the festival to offer our audiences an insight into some of the most outstanding Polish inventors of the 20th century, who revolutionised science, healthcare, pop culture, and many other spheres of our lives. As part of this section, a total of six films are going to be screened, starting with a documentary film about the life and scientific achievements of Jan Czochralski, directed by Katarzyna Trzaska (winner of this year’s Flisak Award). The other films are dedicated to the lives of such prominent scientists as Kazimierz Prószyński, Józef Hofmann, Ludwik Hirszfeld, Jan Szczepanik, and Henryk Magnuski.
