Sweet Sweetback makes his living entertaining guests at a night club. One night, two police officers drop by the club. It turns out that they are under the pressure from the general public to find a person, who would play a “temporary suspect” in a murder case. The club’s owner Beetle agrees to this and Sweetback gets hired by the police. While on their way to the precinct, the two cops apprehend another man — a young member of the Black Panther Party, who gets nearly beaten to death, in front of Sweetback. Sweetback gets involved and soon the entire LAPD is on his tail...
