Diablo

Diablo · dir. Mes De Guzman
Philippines 2012, 113’

Screenings

10/21, 22:30 · Baj Pomorski – hall B

Every night, Nana Lusing lies on her bed sleepless because she sees a dark figure looming in her room. Who is this shadow? Is this the devil? Her late husband? A manifestation of her anxieties? Or simply a figment of her imagination?

Diablo starts with a miner who seemed to have been possessed. His co-workers then bring him to the nearest healer. The scene then cuts and moves to Nana Lusing, who is living alone in an old (and not to mention scary) house. From here, we see her everyday routines such as praying, eating, and listening to the radio until she falls asleep. Once Nana Lusing falls asleep, a human-like figure then appears only inches away from her bed. With each scene this figure is shown, it gets closer and closer...
