The film is dedicated to the memory of Franz Liszt, a great Hungarian composer and pianist, who is considered one of the most colourful figures among classical music composers. He was an eccentric adored by women, a true piano virtuoso, who attracted thousands to his concerts, and also an intellectual, a cosmopolitan and traveller. However, his predominant occupation was constant composing. In 1886, gravely ill Liszt departs for Weimar to participate in a festival in Bayreuth, which is organised under supervision of his daughter, Cosima. The films portrays the last days of this great composer.
