New Hungarian Cinema
It is already the second time that TOFIFEST has brought Hungarian cinematography closer to the Polish audience. This time it will have a separate name: “Węgierska Wiosna Filmowa Jesienią” (The Hungarian Film Spring in Autumn).
The Hungarian Film Spring at TOFIFEST has been prepared in cooperation with the Cultural Foundation Hungary and it will be a presentation of the newest Hungarian featureand short films, which have received awards at Magyar Filmszemle FF and have never been presented in Poland.
The goal of the Hungarian Film Spring is not only to provide an opportunity for the Polish film enthusiasts to see the newest Hungarian film productions, but also to present the reality of contemporary Hungary from a closer perspective, maintain the cultural identity of the cinema from Central Europe, preserve the friendship between Poland and Hungary and confront both cultures, in the spirit of mutual tolerance.
The Hungarian section of the IFF TOFIFEST 2012 will include 5 feature films and 5 shorts.
