The story dates back to 1960s, when 16-year-old Harriet Vanger from a wealthy family, disappears without trace. Forty years later, Mikael Blomqvist, a journalist working in the “Millennium” magazine, is assigned an unusual task — Henrik Vanger, an influential entrepreneur, asks him to write down the history of his family. Shortly after Mikael starts looping for the information he needs to write a family chronicle, a true reason behind this endeavour is revealed — he must find Harriet, Henrik Vagner’s missing niece. Diving deep into the past, Mikael and a young hacker Lisbeth, who is his assistant, slowly discover the horrifying and bloody history of this family…
