Villar del Rio, a small and poor village, is visited by an unexpected guest, as a high dignitary comes over to announce the visit of a delegation from the United States, who are coming to analyse the financial situation and living conditions in Spain. The residents are supposed to hold a welcoming celebration worthy of the guests, in order to receive as much help as possible from the rich and generous Yanks. Local notable are completely helpless towards this challenge. Their ideas for organisation are absurd, if not completely impossible to realise...
