The film tells a story about a novice, Viridiana, who goes to her uncle’s house, before she joins an order. While being there, she must deal with his advances. After a failed rape attempt, she considers herself dirty and therefore unworthy of a life in the order. Instead, she decides to devote her life to helping the poor. She gathers local beggars and offers them a job as harvesters, at the same time teaching them the articles of faith. When owners of the estate go away, the beggars hold a feast. One moment, they decide to reconstruct The Last Supper by Leonardo da Vinci…
