Jonas Engstrom is a brilliant but also an arrogant detective. His damaged reputation results in an assignment far away in the north of Norway, where in a remote town he and his partner must assist the local police in solving the murder of a 15-year-old girl. When pursuing an alleged killer, Jonas makes a fatal mistake: he accidentally kills his partner. In an effort to cover up his crime, he manipulates evidence and makes his situation even more complicated. Tormented by guilt and insomnia, Engstrom must not only face the killer, but also his own conscience…
