The protagonist in the film is Ala’a Basatneh — a charismatic 19-year-old girl — who has been helping to coordinate the revolution in Syria, since 2011, using social media, for example. She was born in Damascus, but immigrated to the United States, when she was just a little girl. Ala'a posts demonstrations as Facebook events, uses Google Maps to inform people about routes they will take, and publishes the material recorded by revolutionaries on her own websites. In the film, we will meet a couple of her friends.
