Little Ali loses the shoes of his younger sister Zahra that he has just collected from the shoemaker. The siblings come from a poor family, who live in the southern part of Tehran. Knowing that their parents cannot afford to buy a new pair of shoes, the girl and the boy decide to keep it a secret that the shoes are gone. They concoct a sneaky plan based on the concept that they will both walk to school wearing Ali's shoes — Zahra will have them for the morning hours, and Ali for the afternoon hours.
