It is the second half of 1950s. Julia Brystygierowa, who goes by the name of “Bloody Luna”, is a former officer of the Ministry of Public Security in Poland. While working there, she was a head of the infamous Department V, known to personally and sadistically torture political prisoners. She was also famous for sending letters to the People's Commissariat for Internal Affairs (NKVD) denouncing large numbers of people, including her party comrades. Now, seeking spiritual advice, she is making efforts to be granted a private audience with Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski, Primate of Poland (Marek Kalita). However, before she can meet the Head of the Polish Catholic Church, Brystygierowa will have to convince a blinded priest (Janusz Gajos) and a nun (Małgorzata Zajączkowska), who is going through a crisis of faith.
