The main protagonist in the latest film by Lav Diaz is Horacia, a former teacher, who has been erroneously sentenced to 30 years in prison. She is a very friendly and knowledgeable woman, which enables her to help other fellow female prisoners. They spend their time together reading, learning languages, or studying chemistry. When her prison sentence is coming to an end, new facts concerning her case suddenly come to light. It turns out that her boyfriend is in fact to blame for the crime she had allegedly committed. The woman is released from prison, but she has one more purpose, in addition to re-adapting to a new world she does not know: she intends to take vengeance on her ex-boyfriend.
