Janet is throwing a home party for her close family and friends to celebrate her promotion for the position of a Minister of Health in the British government. The guests she has invited include: sarcastic April and her husband Gottfried, who supports alternative medicine; a pair of emancipated lesbians: Martha and her partner Jinny, who is more than ten years younger than Martha; and Tom, a strangely agitated person, who starts the party with snorting a line of cocaine in the toilet. At the same time, Bill, Janet's husband, seems to be completely disinterested in the entire situation. He is sitting in the centre of the living room, looking glum and sipping wine, all silent. From time to time, he makes a break in the routine and plays some eccentric music from a vinyl. The situation is slowly becoming a little too tense...
