Delphine (Emmanuelle Seigner) is a popular French writer, who has suffered from lack of inspiration for quite some time now. One day, during a book-signing event, she meets a mysterious woman (Eva Green), which makes her life slowly deviate from the well-trodden path. Both women develop a peculiar relation, which over time changes from friendship to a very toxic addiction. Delphine loses control over her life and everything she has so far taken for granted now loses its original meaning.
