The latest film by Janusz Kondratiuk, who made the unforgettable Dziewczyny do wzięcia, is a bittersweet portrait of family relations inspired by true events. A Cat with a Dog is an ironic comedy and a vision of an unconventional family with all its typical conflicts and rivalry, but also filled with emotional moments and genuine closeness.
When Andrzej, the elderly brother, all of a sudden falls ill, the younger brother Janusz decides to take care of the relative in need, despite their differences and a wall of misunderstandings that has grown between them over the years.

Janusz Kondratiuk was born in 1943, in Ak-Bulak, Kazakhstan. He has graduated from the Lodz Film School (1975). His film portfolio includes such titles as Niedziela Barabasza (1971), Dziewczyny do wzięcia (1972), Pies (1973), Mała sprawa (1975), Czy jest tu panna na wydaniu? (1976), The Applause Getter (1982), Jedenaste przykazanie (1987), Golden Fleece (1996), and Noc Świętego Mikołaja (2000).
