The story focuses on the life of title Cameron Post, a teenager from Montana, who loses her parents in a car accident. Shortly after, the adolescent girl discovers her homosexual nature. The grandmother on her father's side and conservative aunt Ruth are now given custody over Cameron. When both women nail Cameron in a sexually explicit interaction with her closest friend Coley, they send the girl to a special camp, where she will undergo the so-called “reparative therapy” and learn “the proper sexual roles.” While there, Cameron makes new friends with who she decides to fight for her own life and beliefs...
