Winter Flies is an intimate and subtle piece of road cinema — it is a story about two 14-year-old boys, who are travelling by car through the Czech Republic, on their own. A bad male police offer and a female police officer, the latter of who appears to be even worse, are trying to establish the origin of the car and the purpose of this perilous journey. They want to get that information from Mara, one of the boys they managed to take into custody. They treat him as a hoodlum, as he sure looks as one. However, nothing could be further from the truth...
