The film is set in a little town in the eastern part of Macedonia. Every January, a local priest throws a wooden cross into the river, and then hundreds of men jump in the water right after that. The one who catches it may hope for luck and prosperity in his future life. Well, at least it worked that way, before Petrunia won the race... The local community is both shocked and enraged, because they find it incomprehensible to see a woman partake in a ritual designed strictly for men. Although the whole thing turns into a little scandal, Petrunia has no regrets.
