Fantastic Four, the new blockbuster from Hollywood will hit cinemas any moment now. Two of the four main characters will be played by Jamie Bell and Kate Mara. Nonetheless, the Fox Broadcasting Company continues to be criticised for failing to promote the film globally.
The American media compete each other in describing the clothes wore by the actors who appeared at the première of Fantastic Four in Atlanta. Although the main roles were played by young actors, they are not anonymous. Kate Mara has entertained us for quite a long time, as the brilliant Zoe from House of Cards (she had previously been cast for small-scale episodes in 127 Hours and Iron Man 2). Miles Teller, on the other hand, has made an immense impression as one of the leading characters in the Oscar-awarded Whiplash. Michael B. Jordan has won the total of 11 awards and 19 nominations for his role in Fruitvale station (including, among others, the Hollywood Film Award). The oldest member of the cast is Jamie Bell (in the photo), a winner of BAFTA and the Best Actor Award at Tofifest 2007 (for playing in Hallam Foe), who portrayed the Thing – a big monster made of rocks.
In the film directed by Josh Trank, the superheroes: the Human Torch (Michael B. Jordan), Mr. Fantastic (Miles Teller), the Invisible Woman (Kate Mara), and the Thing (Jamie Bell), will have to face an old friend, who has turned into an enemy. His name is Doom (Toby Kebbell), who is both a brilliant inventor and a powerful wizard. Fantastic Four must join forces to save the world.
However, voices are heard that the advertisement campaign behind the film has been a total disaster. It is so unfortunate how little do people know about the existence of this film. The film has been overshadowed not only by the second part of the Avengers, but also by the microscopic Ant-Man, which turned out to be a huge success, much to everybody's surprise, commented critics from the splay.pl website. Fans, on the other hand, are disappointed with the liberties the film authors have taken with the original comic story.
Jamie Bell does not have Fantastic Four on his mind any more, though. According to Entertainment.com, he is currently working on the set for a film much closer to the real life – the thriller 6 Days.
The film is being directed by a New-Zealander Toa Fraser (No.2, The Dead Lands) and it deals with Operation Nimrod that happened in 1980. Back then, armed assailants stormed the Iranian embassy in London and took 26 people hostage. Jamie Bell portrays Rusty Firmin, a member of the elite SAS Special Forces unit that built their fame on participating in that operation. The film is expected to be released next year.
